When Peter met Drax

"Poverty and disability go hand in hand. The poverty rate for working-age people with disabilities is nearly two and a half times higher than that for people without disabilities. Indeed, recent research finds that half of all working age adults who experience at least one year of poverty have a disability, and nearly two-thirds of those experiencing longer-term poverty have a disability. People with disabilities are also much more likely to experience material hardships—such as food insecurity; inability to pay rent, mortgage, and utilities; or not being able to get needed medical care—than people without disabilities at the same income levels. The same goes for families caring for a child with a disability."

"Disability is a cause and consequence of poverty"

This whole article is great, and concludes with concrete policy suggestions that would help disabled people living in poverty. Step 1: explicitly address disability as part of anti-poverty policy agendas.

im really mad at how accurate this is

A moment of silence for our fallen bearded brother who sacrificed himself for the sake of this disgustingly accurate illustration.

Is that even the same person

most of the posts involving messing with bucky’s metal arm just make me really uncomfortable and I wish people would stop making them

Like that arm is part of him, it isn’t some weird hat he’s wearing or something. And it’s pretty ableist to be like LOLL let’s just dehumanise him and fuck with him because it’s not flesh it doesn’t count as harassing and mean and inappropriate right so funny

I just saw one that was like “lol what if tony magnetised bucky’s arm and he got stuck to the fridge all day” how would that be funny and not just a ridiculously shitty thing to do to a person? It’s akin to taking away a person’s wheelchair and being like “lol they’re stuck in the same place all day how funnyyyy”

It also gets extra shitty points considering Bucky already had his autonomy taken away from him before - he doesn’t need his friends and stuff doing it too!

Baby Getting A Chest X-Ray

This device is used to immobilize young children in order to get their x-rays, when a child is very sick and an x-ray is needed to diagnose them. It does NOT hurt them at all. Taking multiple images of a moving baby, in order to get the least blurry one is more harmful because then the child is exposed to radiation for a longer period of time.

This device, which again does NOT hurt them, allows for a technologist to grab chest images of a child as fast and as efficiently as possible. The children may sometimes cry, and get frustrated but only because they are not familiar with this device. This is typically used for babies under 25 Ibs or around 2 years old. If interested you can hear how it works from a technologist himself (What He Has To Say) (More Information)

At first glance I genuinely thought this was a baby in a blender
